Applications for the 2017 summer internship at the Center for Visual Art are due in April 7!  We are looking for 20 dynamic teens to participate in our 5th annual summer internship. This 90 hour project-based summer internship exposes high school students to the local professional sector and engages the next generation in the evolving cultural capitol of our city. Learn industry tools from leading art and technology professionals.  Explore future careers in the arts.  Create bold, collaborative artwork to share your message with your community.  Meet amazing friends and have a blast!   This summer twenty extraordinary teens will be commissioned to design temporary, site specific artwork in Denver in response to an issue of global concern. Interns explore contemporary artists, discover careers in the arts through panel discussions with creative professionals and visit innovative work spaces. They also practice industry skills including graphic design, drafting, public speaking, code switching, photo documentation, networking, resume writing, blogging, etc. The cohort is drawn from throughout the city and interns are selected based on their demonstrated passion for the arts, civic engagement and curiosity about creative careers.  This internship provides access to art, people and professional practices to get you started in a creative career! Leaders in the arts use their voices to affect the change they want to see in the world. This internship is for future creative leaders in Denver!
