The Young Artist Studio opens this week!

There is still space for YOU in free after-school art workshops at CVA. Weekly workshops explore a variety of media and themes throughout the year. Check it out and see how you can get involved!     Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30-5:30 pm (New days and times)
Ages 11-21  

August 29 – October 19  Watercolor Painting
Explore the social and environmental justice themes of the Water Line exhibition and learn new watercolor painting techniques.
 October 24 – December 12  Soft Sculpture
Check out the inspiring culminating exhibition of MSU Denver graduating BFA students and dive into a 3-D space where only your imagination limits your construction.
January 9 – March 22  Mural Painting
The walls in our city offer a platform for social critique and cultural identity. Carlos Fresquez has made his mark on the walls of Denver for more than 30 years. Learn techniques and strategies used by successful muralists to create a mural in the studio at the CVA.
April 3 – May 17   2nd Annual YAS Printmaking Exchange
Discover a variety of printmaking techniques including block printing, collograph, monotype, transfer and more. Make a series of prints to share and take home a diverse portfolio of prints by other young artists.

ASLD Workshops 
The Art Students League of Denver is open for fall registration with our guest jewelry artist Kim Harrell!  One class has already sold out.  To avoid disappointment, please check out the full list of workshops on their website HERE. Coming up is Simple silver ring (3 Saturday mornings) in late September/early October; Bangles (2 Wednesday evenings ) in October, and Linear earrings (2 Wednesday evenings) in November. New this session is Open studio (3 Friday evenings). You can work with Kim in the League’s annex studio and start a project or finish a project.  All levels are welcome but you need to have taken at least one ASLD jewelry class or have previous experience; there is no formal teaching in the open studio. She looks forward to seeing you this fall!
