Animation Club

Animation Club End of Year Update

As the year draws to a close, I would like to thank all the animators for their commitment and creativity!  I have a couple of things to announce for the next few animation club meetings.

  • April 25th (Wednesday) – Editing! We will have the computer carts here for you to edit your footage and create your final movie!
  • May 1st (Tuesday)   - Club meets as usual just on a different day.
  • May 10th (Thursday) – Club meets as usual just on a different day. Bring flash drives to store all your footage!
  • May 16th (Wednesday) – Final club meeting for this school year and the 1st Animation Club Festival 2:30-4:30.  Invite your friends and family to watch your “short films” from this year!

My vision for this club is to create an opportunity for students to learn about the history of animation, explore many types of animation and begin creating our own animated movies.

It is my hope that through this club, a core group of DSA animators will organize themselves and work collaboratively to create animations worthy of entering contests, festivals, etc., and have fun doing it!

We will hold regular meetings on Wednesdays after school from 2:40 – 4:30

You must sign up with Mrs. Fleischman to join the club

I highly recommend that you bring a notebook or sketchbook and pencil to each meeting.

Suggested supplies to bring

  • Pencils
  • Erasers
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Ruler

Occassionally Mrs. Fleischman may ask you to bring certain items to help with your next animation project.  She will post this on the website and give you a reminder each week of what is coming up next.
