Stagecraft & Design Updates
We want to make sure everyone knows about the next two big Upcoming Productions:
The production features the 8th grade Theatre students in their annual 8th grade musical.
January through March has been a whirlwind of productions designed and run by Stagecraft & Design students! Congratulations to the designers and crews for As You Like It, Much Ado About Nothing, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Black History Show, Telling Stories, Pops Show and Men on Boats.
We also organized and hosted the Creative Careers Festival on March 12. This event brought in over 50 working artists to share about pathways to careers in the Creative Industries. We had over 300 students attend the event, including students from other schools, from Greeley to Pueblo. A huge THANK YOU to the student leadership team that helped plan, organize, prepare signage and serve as student hosts in the 45 workshop sessions that were a part of the event.
The senior class is looking for volunteers to help with concessions. Sign up at:
Stagecraft & Design Banquet
It’s that time of year again to start planning our end of year banquet. I am putting out that call for parent help with things like catering, invitations, set-up, strike, rentals. The date for the banquet this year is Monday May 20 @ 5:30pm in the commons here at school. I have a list of parents who signed up to help last fall that I will be contacting this week. If you didn’t sign up last fall it’s not too late. Contact Lara Kirksey at email@example.com. We will have a planning meeting soon after spring break.
On Friday, April 12, the Stagecraft & Design freshman will be attending a technical theatre event at the Community College of Aurora. They will leave DSA at 8:00 and return at lunch time.
On Wednesday, April 17 the whole department will be going to Boulder for a tour of the technical theatre department at CU. We will leave at 9:15am and return at 2:30pm.
