Stagecraft & Design Updates
We had a fun trip to Balarat over the weekend. Some of the highlights were the big swing, zip line, ropes course, tech trivia, hiking at dawn, smores for breakfast, capture the flag and much more… Here’s a few photos of the department in action:
Art School College Night
Friday, October 4th 4:00 – 6:00 pm at DSA
Each year DSA hosts a college night that focuses on Arts colleges. This is a great chance to learn more about the variety of programs the colleges offer and to get feedback on portfolios. Click here to download a poster that lists the colleges that will be in attendance.
Thanks to Jen Kubik for helping to organize this great event!
Upcoming Field Trip
On Wednesday, Oct. 2, all Stagecraft & Design students are going to go to the Denver Center for Performing Arts to see the DCTC production of Indecent by Paula Vogel. Click here for more information about Indecent. Students will have limited time for lunch due to the ending time of the performance and the bus schedule to get back to DSA, so they need to bring a lunch with them to school.
DSA Fill the Gap Fundraising Efforts
Fill the Gap is our annual fundraising effort for DSA. Thank you to the 26 families that have given donations already. The funding that comes in through this school-wide program has a huge impact on our department. We have received funding for equipment upgrades, guest artists and countless other functions in our program. Currently the Stagecraft & Design department only has a 42% participation rate in this important school-wide fundraising effort. Please take a few minutes to make a donation at whatever financial level fits your family budget.
Catherine Huggins, Stagecraft & Design parent, has written a letter for parents explaining more of how this fundraiser impacts our department and the school. Click here to download Catherine’s letter.
Please click on or copy the link below to make a donation or you can write a check (make checks payable to DSAFF) and send in a one-time donation:
2021 Edinburgh Fringe Festival
During the summer of 2021, a group of Theatre and Stagecraft & Design students will be going to Edinburgh to participate in the Fringe Festival. This trip is for students who are currently in grades 7-10. There is an information meeting about the 2021 Edinburgh Fringe Festival on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 5:30pm in the Concert Hall.

King Soopers Fundraiser
King Soopers Fundraising is one of the easiest and best ways that we receive regular funds to support our department. If you follow the instructions below, 5% of your spending at King Soopers will go to support the activities of our department. In past years this has brought in about $300 a month, but since they moved to the new system we have only seen a small number of families signup to participate. Please enroll in the Community Rewards Program. Thank you!
