Thank you for help with the Chicago Concessions

Thank you so much to all of our wonderful parents who donated concessions and especially to those who worked the concession stand during ‘Chicago’! This is by far our biggest fundraiser of the year and with fewer shows this year we were a little worried we might not make as much as past years but it was quite the opposite. Thanks to these awesome volunteers we were able to raise over $2,400.00! This money goes towards classroom activities and field trips and we are so grateful for our generous parents donations and time!

Stagecraft & Design Department Retreat: Balarat – September 27-28

We leave for our department retreat tomorrow at 9:30am. Students need to bring warm clothes, a sleeping bag and pillow, and a sack lunch for Friday. Our return time to DSA is at 1:30pm on Saturday. DSA Fill the Gap Fundraising Efforts

DSA is a unique school with unique needs! The actual cost of educating a DSA student with an extraordinary arts and academic education is beyond the funding that is provided by the district. In order to fully fund DSA’s nationally competitive arts and academics, we are faced with a gap. This year the gap is $1,500 per student.

With all DSA parents coming together to Fill the Gap with a monthly, unrestricted contribution, we will be able to provide quality educational programs in the arts and academics, capital improvements for DSA’s unique needs, increased security for DSA’s extended hours, and more. A school-wide culture of philanthropy is essential to the success of our students and fulfilling our mission…and together we will be stronger!  Currently the Stagecraft & Design department only has a 39% participation rate in this important school-wide fundraising effort.  Please take a few minutes to make a donation at whatever financial level fits your family budget.

Upcoming Field Trips

We are going to be taking all of the Stagecraft & Design students to attend two productions at the Denver Center for Performing Arts. Our first field trip is going to be on Wednesday, Oct. 2 to see the DCTC production of Indecent by Paula Vogel. Click here for more information about Indecent. King Soopers Fundraiser – Please enroll!!!

King Soopers Fundraising is one of the easiest and best ways that we receive regular funds to support our department. If you follow the instructions below, 5% of your spending at King Soopers will go to support the activities of our department. In past years this has brought in about $300 a month, but since they moved to the new system we have only seen a small number of families signup to participate. Please enroll in the Community Rewards Program. Thank you!

Once logged into your King Soopers or City Market account, click on the “Community Rewards” link, search for “Denver School of the Arts – Stagecraft and Design” either by name or input the code: GW652 and then click Enroll.

King Soopers users who don’t have an online account will need to create an account which requires some basic information, a valid email address, and a loyalty card to affiliate with your account.

Please note: Customers must have a registered King Soopers or City Market loyalty card account to link to our organization. If a member does not yet have a King Soopers or City Market loyalty card, they are available at the customer service desk at any King Soopers or City Market.

REMEMBER, purchases will not count for our organization until after participants register their loyalty card. Participants must swipe their registered King Soopers or City Market loyalty card or use the phone number that is related to their registered King Soopers or City Market loyalty card when shopping for each purchase to count.
