The Piano Department of DSA is an unusually diverse group of talented pianists, their teachers, and their parents.  We’ve been honored to include students from all over the world, including The Czech Republic, Thailand, Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Uganda, Taiwan, Venezuela, Vietnam, China, Mongolia, and the United Kingdom.  Our graduates have gone on to some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in our country, including Berklee School of Music, Colorado School of Mines, The University of Denver,  Oberlin Conservatory, Indiana University, The New School, New York University, University of Puget Sound, University of Pennsylvania, University of Colorado, Colorado State University, Mills College, Duke University, The Peabody Conservatory,The New England Conservatory, Sarah Lawrence College, and The Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Current and former students have won prestigious awards in the Steinway, Yamaha, and other competitions.  Some have participated in competitions sponsored by the American Guild of Organists.  Others compete in the Guild Auditions of the National Fraternity of Student Musicians.  Our students have been honored with First Place in The United States International Duo Piano Competition.  Many of our students are accomplished in other artistic disciplines, including writing, acting, singing, and dancing.



The Piano Department maintains e-mail communication for our students, parents, private teachers, friends, former students, or any others who might be interested in our activities.  Please contact Mr. Lassen at tlassen@dpsk12.net to be included in this messaging.  We cordially invite our private teachers to be included on this list.  Our messaging is an essential communication for our students, parents, and private teachers to keep track of classroom deadlines, classroom requirements, social events, and department performances.

Denver School of the Arts uses Infinite Campus as our web-based gradebook.  Please contact the DSA Counseling Department for information to access IC at the beginning of the school year.  It is essential to the success of our students that parents check grades at least once a week.  Parents will automatically receive e-mail notifications of tardies, absences, failing grades, or missing assignments.
