Welcome to the DSA Counseling Department!

Our Counseling Center

The Counseling Center Staff is available from 7:20 am – 3:20 pm Monday – Friday.  We ask that our students always enter through the Counseling Center – not the main office.  Please check in with Ms. Jackson as she will help guide you to the correct person.

Academic Counseling

The purpose of academic counseling is to provide all students with the tools for success in the academic world. Each and every student at Denver School of the Arts is supported to not only become proficient in their chosen art area – but also to graduate with college level skills in English, social studies, mathematics, science and world languages.  The main goal of academic counseling is to support students in acquiring the skills necessary to be lifelong learners.

College & Career Counseling

The purpose of college & career planning and career counseling is to prepare students for their life beyond high school. This includes helping students discover the value of an education, the variety and availability of colleges and careers, and how to develop a plan of action.

Personal/Social Counseling

The purpose of personal/social counseling is for students to acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and interpersonal skills needed to understand and respect themselves and others in a diverse world.

Mental Health Team

The Denver School of the Arts Mental Health Team consists of one school psychologist and a school social worker who provide crisis intervention and support. The team is also available for consultation on many issues which may affect learning and school success. We consult regularly with general and special education teachers regarding students’ access to learning.

Infinite Campus Access/Parent Portal
